2007 Respite Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Advocate 93 Points
Wine Advocate #187 Feb 2010 Robert Parker
“The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reichel Vineyard possesses sweeter fruit, greater volume,
more depth, and a full-bodied style revealing lots of camphor, creme de cassis, licorice,
tobacco leaf, and a hint of graphite. It is a full-bodied, beautifully textured, pure, elegant, yet
substantial Cabernet to enjoy over the next 15+ years."

2006 Respite Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Advocate 91 Points
Wine Advocate # 187 Feb 2010 Robert Parker
“The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reichel Vineyard exhibits a dense purple color as well as a beautiful, sweet, pure bouquet of creme de cassis, licorice, and background oak. Full-bodied, dense, and powerful, this impressive Alexander Valley Cabernet reveals surprisingly refined and delicate tannins for this area (whose tannins can often be too rustic and robust). This beauty should drink nicely for 15 years."

Respite’s debut vintage is 2006, and the winemakers behind the wines are May-Britt and Denis Malbec. (The latter name should be familiar with those who have followed the brilliant wines being produced by Kapcsandy winery in Yountville as he is also their winemaker.) Drink: 2010 – 2025” Robert Parker

2006 Respite Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Enthusiast 91 Points
“A lovely Cabernet that shows the soft tannins and earthy herbaceousness of
Alexander Valley. On a fruitier note are the cherries and red currants that are accented by sweet, smoky oak. Spicy and dry, this polished wine wants a few years in the cellar. 2011–2015. —S.H.” March 2010

2006 Respite Cabernet Sauvignon Reichel Vineyard, Alexander Valley

“This is one of our greatest Cab discoveries of 2009. People who have tried this have come back for more. Only 280 cases were made, so we can't expect it to last long, especially with more and more people catching on. By the way, the winemaker for this also makes Kapcsandy Cabs, one of which just received 100 points from Parker. Congrats!

Acme Fine Wines
AcmeLog April 2009 “. “…we blind-tasted Respite alongside several other wines in varying price points and chose it as the unanimous winner…. It oozes quality. It screams quality. It takes the habitual skeptical people out back and smacks them around to say “Yes, it is THAT good”. We wouldn’t write about it if we didn’t think it had WORTH IT written all over it. If it fits your wallet, it is the right wine for you…..written in stone on this 28th day of April, 2009.”
